The package consists of

A social orientation course

You can take the social orientation course in your own language or a language you already understand. In this course you will learn a lot about life in Belgium: the labour market, housing, health care, transport, education for your children, local customs, your rights and obligations... You will participate in group excursions, meet other participants and acquire a variety of skills. The total instruction time is 60 hours, spread over several hours a day and completed in only a few weeks. Together, we will choose the course best fitted to your needs.

A basic course in Dutch

Language knowledge is very important. You will benefit from Dutch language skills in your search for a job, in daily life and in the contacts you have with the school your children attend. That is why bon helps you learning the Dutch language by first assessing how much you already know, and then looking for a suitable course in your area.

Workshops and counselling for work, career and leisure time

bon helps you plan your future. bon organises workshops, information sessions and counselling where you can learn more about career, work training and leisure. We help you in finding employment opportunities, take further training, get work experience or meet other people. We’ll also introduce you to the many opportunities for volunteering, sports or cultural participation through associative clubs in Brussels. We’ll help you find your way.

Individual life coaching

Throughout your entire experience at bon you can count on personal guidance. Your counsellor will either speak your own language or a language you understand, or will work with the help of an interpreter. Together with your counsellor, you will choose the courses to follow, look whether you need child care and what plans you can make for the future. If you have a diploma or other qualification, we find out whether you can obtain an equivalent to ensure it is valid in Belgium as well. For more specific problems, your counsellor can redirect you to relevant services.

bon also welcomes minors. We help children and young people to find introductory courses and activities which are both fun and meaningful.
